Remind101

Technology can be a wonderful tool. Along with our class blog we have added Remind101 to help with home-school communication.

Remind101 is a service that allows us to send out a mass text message of important reminders in a flash. This service will help you keep track of all the exciting things in 4th grade.  (This morning, I (Mrs. Pope) sent out a reminder for the canned food drive. It was quick and easy. )

If you are able to receive/send text messages, then send @pope-furr to (848) 260-4735 to sign up for this service. You can go to their website to read additional information about it. This is a one -way text of information. Parents and students can NOT text back.

We are excited to use this tool and hope that ALL of our families sign up for it.

Food Drive

Dear Parents,

Our school is collecting can food and other non-perishable food items for those in need. We will be partnering with our partner church, The Church at Argyle to help fill up their food pantry. The Church at Argyle feeds families right here in our neighborhood everyday! We believe that this will be a great way for our students to work together in a positive way and help those in need!

Here is a suggested donation list:

Canned Meals: Stews, Soups, Tuna, Ravioli, Lasagna, etc. (Pop-top cans a plus!)
Peanut Butter, Canned Vegetables
Grains: Cereal, Rice, Pasta and Dried Beans
Fruits: Fruit cups, Dried Fruit, Applesauce, 100% Juice and Juice Boxes
Rice, Pasta and Dried Beans
Kid-Friendly Items: Granola Bars, Popcorn, Graham or Animal Crackers, Fat-free/Sugar-free Pudding Cups
Baby Products: Diapers, Wipes, Formula, Infant Cereal
Hygiene Items: Toothpaste, Feminine Products, Shaving Items, Hand Sanitizer, Soap, etc.
Paper Products: Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, etc

Boxes will be set up in each classroom. Students may bring in as few or as many items as they wish! The last day to send in items is Friday, November 16th.

Thank you for supporting such a wonderful school service project.
